Happy Birthday, “Baby” Cate!

Catherine Faith is three today. Hard to believe how quickly these last few years have flown! I love that little girl with every ounce of my being no matter how much I fuss about what a royal mess she is. She is so lovable and totally addicted to her mommy. There isn’t much I like better than snuggling beside that sweet child.

I was so nervous when I was pregnant with her. Worried I was wrecking Emma’s world. Worried I wouldn’t love her as much as I did Emma. I shouldn’t have wasted the energy on those thoughts. The instant she was born I loved her as if I always have.

Cate talks a lot. She tells me everything and has a phenomenal memory. Yesterday we went to Target to get a few more little gifts for her birthday. Money’s tight so all she’s getting is a doll I got on sale after Christmas. (I think it’s Belle from Beauty and the Beast or the Little Mermaid.) We got her a rainbow My Little Pony and a Little Einsteins toy for the bathtub. Well, the child is obsessed with the Little Einsteins! We came home and she napped for a few hours. When she woke up, she was asking about the Little Einstein toy. Saying “it’s out there in that white car, go get it!!!” and I told her she had to wait for her birthday. Such a funny kid.

She is all girl! Loves playing dress up and insists on picking the panties she will wear for the day and frequently demands to wear something pink or purple. She would wear dresses daily if I would let her but since she’s such a tough kid, I usually put her in something she can play in and get dirty.

She is so thirsty! When she says this she says “I’m firsty, Momma!!” and it cracks me up. Her favorite beverages are apple juice or lemonade but she has been known to sneak sips of “fizzy” if it’s within her grasp. (You can tell in this picture she is eyeballing Emma’s drink!)

Currently, she is so obsessed with those Little Einsteins that she will sing the theme song over and over until it’s stuck in my head!

Happy Birthday, Baby Cate. You will always be my baby no matter how old you are!
